In the event of mains failures it is used as a compact buffer solution and ensures that the machine can be restarted quickly and without errors when the supply voltage returns.
If a mains failure occurs, the DC intermediate circuit voltage of the inverter continues to supply all connected 24 V loads without interruption. To do so, the power supply is connected to two outer conductors of the three-phase system and to a DC voltage.
This can be the DC intermediate circuit voltage of a frequency inverter or a supply unit. The controller then continues to be supplied with the kinetic energy of the motors. This enables a controlled machine stop to be performed.
