The SpectraStar 2500 Top Window scans the essential portion of the NIR spectrum from 680nm – 2500nm and is a true top of the line, research grade instrument. Its range encompasses the full NIR range plus a part of the visible range in the electromagnetic spectrum.
With data from the full wavelength range available, the SpectraStar offers improved accuracy, and the ability to closely match any available NIR instrument and facilitate calibration and database transfer from older systems.
Using the shorter NIR wavelengths provides more energy to penetrate the sample and can improve the performance of analysing unground materials.
The visible region provides information for challenging applications like chlorophyll and other colorimetric measurements. The SpectraStar Top Window provides the ultimate in sampling flexibility, with external rotating sample presentation samples can be analysed in a variety of sample cups, petri dishes or bags.
The rotating feature of the Top Window system allows for the analysis of un-ground or partially ground material by simply filling a sample cup and placing it on the window. With the SpectraStar Top Window series, all sampling options are possible.

The SpectraStar ensures fast, accurate analysis of agricultural, food, tobacco, pharmaceutical and industrial samples and is an ideal upgrade option from FOSS, Perstop, Bran+Luebbe and others with the capability to directly transfer MLR calibrations from Bran+Luebbe InfraAlysers. With the addition of the software application TransStar entire scanning databases can be transferred from other brand scanning InfraAlysers.
