NSW Business Chamber welcomes the ALP tax policy
The NSW Business Chamber has welcomed the release of the ALP Tax Policy so that the business and wider community have the opportunity to compare the tax policies on their merits.
“The election debate is now focused on how to best share the economic benefits of prosperity,” said Kevin MacDonald, CEO, NSW Business Chamber.
“We support moves towards the harmonisation of personal and company tax levels and the simplification of tax scales. It’s pleasing the ALP tax policy reflects this objective.
“The ALP tax policy correctly identifies the need to lower tax rates across the board as a means of increasing workforce participation.
MacDonald said that the tax policies proposed by both the ALP and Coalition have been made possible by the 61 per cent increase in company tax collections over the past three years, from $36 billion to $58 billion.
