OI Glass is a manufacturer of glassware in Sydney's western suburbs.
The concrete chimney stack required restoration all the way from the top of the 55m stack.
BEROA were contracted to complete the remediation project. The job involved the careful planning of a team of abseilers, scaffolding and stainless steel sleeves erected to hold the concrete around the top of the chimney stack.
The ChemGrout CG570 was chosen for its ability to pump the grout material from ground level to the top of the 55m stack. Over 1 tonne of material is pumped every 3 ½ hours to the top where the abseilers place the grout inside a stainless steel sleeve.
The batch sizes consisted of 5 bags @ 3.8l per 20kg of material. The project took 11 weeks to complete, pumping over 30 cbm of material in that time.
