Failure to obtain these skills could result in workplace injuries or even death. Just as important, untrained operators can lead to inefficient work practices; costing your business valuable time and money.
Furthermore, under today's Occupational Safety and Health Act, using an untrained operator can result in fines of up to $200,000. It's just not worth the risk under any circumstances. High Risk Licensing is compulsory for use of all types of Forklift Trucks, Order Picker (high rise) Trucks and Elevated Work Platforms with a boom at or greater than 11 metres under the national licensing standard. These laws became effective in WA at 1 October 2007.
Special Note: Under new laws it is an offence to permit unauthorised operators to use specified plant (even) under supervision (for purpose of practice or otherwise) unless the operator has been suitably enrolled through a respective RTO for the purpose of obtaining a High Risk Licence. Did you know United Equipment’s RTO Division also gathers evidence of suitable training on behalf of the client business that is not related to high risk licensing? Remember, the OHS Act requires training to be given for all tasks concerning the operation of any load shifting equipment i.e. Walkie Stackers, Container Handlers and various Elevated Work Platforms. A no charge service is supplied for business that requires their staff training records be checked for currency and accuracy. To cater to the increased demand for operator training, United Equipment provides professional and accredited training facilities to assist in all your duty of care needs. These facilities simulate real work environments. Here, with the assistance of highly experienced and dedicated training staff, operators can be comprehensively trained according to strict national guidelines using up – to - date assessment tools and by WorkSafe registered assessors.
Or, if it is more suitable, training may take place at your premises. For more detailed information about our Complete Training & Assessment Service please fill out either the TRAINING REGISTRATION FORM or the TRAINING ENQUIRY FORM.
Remember, there is a duty of care obligation that must be met in order to ensure your operators are properly trained and assessed. All licensing programmes compulsorily require additional evidence to be gathered during assessments leading to the issuing of a Statement of Attainment per AQTF Essential Standards 2007. Information is provided by the United Equipment RTO Services Team and is accurate at time of this publication.
