With the factory located in Beijing, Rigol have built a solid reputation for quality and excellent performance, not only in Australian educational institutions and industry where hundreds units are in daily use but also with a major US oscilloscope manufacture for whom Rigol have been an OEM supplier for over 3 years.
The new DS1000B series of 4 channel oscilloscopes continue this tradition of quality and performance by providing advanced features at a price that is typically 20 per cent cheaper than competitors units.
The DS1000B series provide 3 models, from 60MHz to 200MHz bandwidth, 4 channels, up to 2GS/s sample rate and 16K memory. The DS1000B also incorporates Rigol's proprietary ASIC front end which replaces all traditional mechanical relays to provide superior performance with longer product life. The DS1000B series are also the first scope in its class to be certified by the LXI consortium, providing users the flexibility or programming over the web and the confidence that Rigol scopes conform to this rigid industry specification.
In addition to digital filtering, pass/fail testing, record and playback, the DS1000B series also provide logic triggering across the 4 channels and alternate triggering providing a truce dual time-base scope. They also provide the most complete set of interface options in their class, including LAN, USB and 2 x USB host.
As Li Wisen, Vice General Manager of Rigol explains "Rigol's philosophy is to look at existing products on the market and see how we can not only improve on them, but offer users more value and performance than they have been accustomed to in the past". Rigol started some 10 years ago as a venture among 4 engineering graduates from Beijing Polytechnic.
With hard work, an engineering staff with an average age of around 25 years and innovative engineering, Rigol have quickly seen their products rapidly gain a strong reputation in Europe and North America.
"We have worked hard on all aspects of the product, from User Manuals and Software to sourcing the best components to provide a product whose performance is indistinguishable from any other popular brand oscilloscopes manufactured in China or elsewhere," explains Weisen.
"We are also proud of our association with Emona, a highly regarded and award winning supplier of test equipment in Australia and look forward to bringing Rigol's trademark performance and affordability to Australian oscilloscope users."
