Gummed Paper Tapes are traditionally made from unbleached brown or bleached white Kraft papers and have an adhesive that is water activated. That is like a traditional postage stamp.
This is a very traditional product and was the only sealing tape available before self Adhesive tapes were invented.
Not widely used but does have the following advantages, in unbleached form it is chemically inert meaning it can be used safely in archival work, it is fully recyclable, it is a completely natural product and looks very neat when used as a carton sealing tape.
Picture Framers also can use it as a frame backing tape or hinging tape (unbleached) as it is acid free. Available in 24, 36, 50,60 & 75mm widths.
