Profile-based Roof Fans & Vertical Discharge Fans

FANQUIP has released profile-based hooded roof fans and vertical discharge fans that eliminate major dangers associated with retrospective work on the roofs of older manufacturing premises and factories.

They are suitable for servicing buildings with asbestos roofs. Retroventing can be accomplished by replacing a single, whole sheet at every point a vent is required.

A set of screws can be removed and an outdated sheet replaced with a modern ventilating unit. As no cutting or breaking of roof segments is necessary, the retrofit process does not upset the local environment or the people working inside the premises.

Using a profile base, installation costs and time on potentially hazardous rooftops are cut by as much as 60%. No upstand is needed, while bird mesh protection is provided. Should a roof profile not match any of the six profiles a curb base is used to accommodate the situation.

Fanquip hooded roof fans are made from fibreglass/alloy and can withstand extreme weather. They are placed a significant distance from the major opening of a complex so as to create an air flow drawn in through that main opening. This creates an intake of fresh air, with bad air drawn by and expelled through the hooded roof fans.

Normally heat or pungent odours are the reason for installation, but dust can also be extracted. Motor speeds range from 720 rpm to 1440 rpm, with voltages in either 1Ph 240V or 3Ph 415V. Options include flameproof motors, a belt drive and an IP56 motor. The fans can also be supplied without fan and motor to act as an exhaust relief/air intake.

Corrugated iron profiles are available with fan diameters of 400mm, 600mm and 1200mm with a free air volume from 1484L/s to 14000L/s. Motor power ranges from 0.18kW to 2.20kW.

The Trimdek roof profiles are available with fan diameters of 400mm, 600mm, 800mm and 1200mm with a free air volume from 1484L/s to 14000L/s. Motor power ranges from 0.18kW to 2.20kW.

The Super Six is available with fan diameters of 400mm, 600mm and 800mm and have a free air volume 1484L/s to 6800L/s. Motor power ranges from 0.18kW to 1.10kW.

The Spandek is available in fan diameters of 400mm, 600mm and 1200mm. Free air volume ranges from 1484L/s to 4300L/s. Motor power ranges from 0.18kW to 2.20kW.

The Double Rib & Span 4 is available with a fan diameter of 600mm, with a free air volume from 3019L/s to 4300L/s. Motor power ranges from 0.37kW to 1.10kW.

The Longspan series has fan diameters of 600mm and 1200mm, with a free air volume from 3019L/s to 4300L/s. Motor power options are 0.37kW, 1.10W, and 2.2kW.

Vertical discharge fans with profile bases for asbestos roofs suit the largest of environments, but are also lightweight and allow installation virtually anywhere a high rate of extraction is required.

They are made from either aluminium or galvanised steel and the construction provides the strength to maintain non-stop use while maintaining the benefits of the lightweight construction.

The fans are suited to Australian weather and can be installed at the construction stage of a building or retrofitted. Fanquip has upstands that suit the pitch of any given roof and flashing is also available to waterproof the installation. The units are supplied in fan diameters from 300mm to 1,500mm.

Free air volume movement ranges from 740L/s on the 300mm vertical discharge fan through to 19,000L/s on the 1500mm unit. Models ranging from 300mm to 600mm are available in operating voltages of 240V or 415V. Diameters of 800mm or more are only supplied in 415V types.
