The Q:Scan Board Yield system counts boards and measures the length, width and thickness of timber at the outfeed line of a timber mill. This information allows the Camsensor database management software Camlink to calculate the throughput and tally information. These data can be broken down into orders, pallets or individual plank measurements.
The system utilizes two Camsensor smart cameras for continuous linear scanning. Several metal halide lights mounted down the length of the timber provide high intensity lighting on the travelling boards for accurate calculations.
Two laser displacement sensors (top/bottom) and a dedicated PLC are used to measure the thickness of the board.
