Quest Cross Sections
Quest Cross Sections makes it easy to digitize road or trench plans drawn in cross section view, with several powerful tools for data analysis. And it's completely compatible with Estimator.
The Takeoff in Cross Sections is designed to measure cut and fill quantities from plans drawn in cross section view.
Using the stylus pen and digitizer board, just trace over the elevations for each chainage (once for existing elevations, and once more for proposed elevations).
Amounts of cut, fill, and stripped topsoil are always visible for each chainage, and you can even copy and paste grades between chainages.
The Quantity screen gives you area, volume, and mass summaries for your cut and fill quantities, broken down by chainage. View totals for the entire job, or for selected chainages only.
You can always adjust the swell and yield factors for different material types, as well as the amount of topsoil stripped for different ranges of the job site. And when you're done, you can export the data to Estimator.
The Graph screen offers three different ways to view your totals—in terms of area, volume, or mass. Data is provided for each chainage you include
