Rapid Machinery Company is an Australian owned and run business, and has been operating since the 1970's. Founder, Bruce Mansell, started the business to satisfy a need in the Australian market for specialised short run labels. That soon expanded to providing solutions to other challenges experienced by local label producers, including specialised equipment and production machinery.
With 35 years of experience in solving problems for label printers and converters Rapid has earned a reputation for developing reliable and robust solutions.
Rapid have sold machines in 54 countries and with thousands of installations, almost half being special purpose solutions, have the experience to assist in overcoming your production challenges.
From developing the world's first optical plate-mounting unit in 1980, the first totally gearless flexo press in 1995, the first RFID label and tag converting machine in Australia in 1996, right through to our latest UV Digital Ink-Jet label presses in 2013, Rapid have been at the forefront of technology in the printing and converting industry.
Being amongst the first adopters of servo drive technology for narrow web converting, Rapid have consistently built on that experience to stay ahead of the rest when it comes to the application of technology in the printing industry.
In 2008 we embarked on a new venture and embraced the digital age focussing on inkjet and allied technologies. In conjunction with Advanced Inkjet Technology, Rapid developed a range of UV inkjet solutions to produce robust industrial labels and perform product marking.
