At the heart of RobotWare Machining FC are three advanced software features. The first, an easy way of programming with lead through and automatic path learning, allows
easy, quick and accurate creation of complex robot paths. The Graphical User Interface is iconbased and includes a wizard to help create programs by first using manual guidance and then letting the robot automatically follow the surface and record the path.

The second, FC Pressure, lets robots grind, polish or buff castings while maintaining a constant pressure between the tool and the work piece.

The third software feature, FC SpeedChange, enables a robot to deburr or deflash part-lines and surfaces of castings at a controlled speed, slowing down when encountering excessive burr.

Now its possible to automate assembly tasks which earlier required skilled personnel. Force Control Assembly adds sensor feedback to the robot's positioning and allows the robot to search for the correct assembly position. Force Control adds advanced search patterns and also different options in order to indicate when the job is done

With Force Control the robot is equipped with 'tactile' sense and can therefore handle parts like a human worker, i.e. search along a predefined pattern and try pushing until the parts slip into position with only small contact forces used. This will save not only installation costs and programming time but also reduce the process cycle time.

The 'tactile' robot control will be very useful for product testing.
