Soanar offers a newly developed range of ruggedised cabinets by electronics packaging specialist Schroff designed specifically for protecting sensitive electronics in naval applications.

The Varistar MIL 901D cabinets from Schroff are ruggedised 19" cabinets that protect sensitive electronic systems from the demanding conditions encountered during operation at sea.

Suitable for use on frigates, aircraft carriers and submarines, the Varistar MIL 901D cabinets have been independently tested in accordance with the MIL-STD-901D standard to confirm their robustness and stability under extreme shock. In addition, the cabinet is designed to MIL-STD-167 standard for vibration resistance.

Shock absorbers are designed for each individual application, with the type and size determined by variables such as cabinet dimensions, weight of the components housed in the cabinet and the position of its centre of gravity.

Incorporating COTS technology to keep project costs in check, the MIL 901D ruggedised cabinets are based on Schroff's standard Varistar cabinet model with expertly engineered modifications to enable them to cope with the rigours of naval applications.

Key features of Varistar MIL 901D cabinets:

Galvanised and powder-coated frame and covers for corrosion resistance
Four shock absorbers attached to the cabinet's welded base plate and two more fixed to the rear of the solid top cover for wall mounting
Shock absorbers are designed for each individual application to suit variables
Available in a wide range of sizes
IP55 sealing against ingress of dust and moisture
