The Earp Brothers fully vitrified porcelain tile slip resistant tiles are manufactured from 6% post-industrial waste tiles recaptured from the waste stream of the tile manufacturing process.
Nearly all of the un-fired raw material is returned to the ceramic body preparation stage of the tile, where it is covered back into spray-back powder.
The tiles have a high slip resistance rating varying in the range from R9-R12.
Ninety per cent of energy used in the production process is fuelled by natural gas.
No remedial treatments are required for slip resistance or sealing.
The tiles are suitable for public areas, shopping areas, office buildings, hotels, high traffic areas, facades, as well as residential housing.

- Cyrstalline Silica
The product contains a proportion of respirable free crystalline silica in the quartz component.
In 1996, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified crystalline silica inhaled in the form of quartz, from occupational sources, as carcinogenic to humans (Group 1).
However, this classification was based on uncertain evidence and the Australian body, ASCC/NOHSC (National Occupational Health and Safety Commission) have not classified crystalline silica as a carcinogen.
No excess risk of lung cancer or other cancers from using these products exists. Nonetheless, users should take caution in avoiding dust inhalation during installation.
Note- this issue of concern relates to cutting, grinding and other occupational production activities, and is not a problem as installed in buildings.
