Spectrax System securely, seamlessly, and cost-effectively extends enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems to mobile and remote users. Spectrax System comprises three product components: Client Connect Pocket (CCPocket™), Client Connect Service (CCService™), and Client Connect Pro (CCPro™).
Spectrax System reflects the functionality of the underlying ERP or CRM systems, including customizations, without introducing an additional layer. And because data resides behind the corporate firewall in the ERP system, companies maintain control over their critical business data.
Spectrax System presents a consistent, graphical, intuitive user interface no matter what ERP or CRM solution it serves. Users can read from as well as write to these systems.
Spectrax System integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and Microsoft MapPoint. Since it is platform-neutral, it can also bridge between the Microsoft platform and legacy systems running on other operating systems. Technology providers on and outside of the Microsoft platform can access the functionality of Spectrax System by implementing the system's integration interfaces, which persist the system's data transfer objects.
Client Connect Pocket
CCPocket is client software that runs on mobile devices. For remote and mobile users, CCPocket is the front-end of Spectrax System. CCPocket offers a complete business system with the main functionality of ERP (including Online Payments and Sales Order Processing), CRM, and MapPoint.
CCPocket consists of application software and a database on the mobile or remote device. The database is Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition (CE), and it can be used both online and offline.
Sales or Field Service representatives can digitally capture customers’ signatures and attach them to business documents.
Software and database can reside in RAM or on a Secure Digital (SD) card.
Client Connect Service
CCService is a hosted data exchange service that provides a two-way link between CCPocket and CCPro, and synchronizes data updates and changes. CCService uses Microsoft Web Services for management of all data streams and messages.
CCService typically runs on an Internet-based server outside the firewall, but it can keep data synchronized and available even if Internet connectivity is poor.
CCService is transport-layer agnostic, with support for General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) or third-generation (3-G) mobile networks.
In case a mobile device is lost or stolen, a system administrator can remotely disable CCService and thereby prevent sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands.
Client Connect Pro
CCPro is the database connection software that integrates an organization's ERP system and its business database with the mobile device through the CCService channel. CCPro translates ERP and CRM data streams into Spectrax-compliant data streams, and vice versa.
CCPro usually resides on the corporate network, securely behind a company's firewall.
Organizations can operate CCPro in parallel, running multiple instances of the software to boost transaction processing capability.
Spectrax System Hosting Options
In a multi-user environment, Spectrax System relies on hosted Web services. Spectrax System customers can choose from among several flexible hosting options, and Spectrax partners can provide hosting services as an add-on service.
Large organizations may host Spectrax System and its supporting Web services in-house, to gain full control over implementation and customization.
Small and mid-market organizations typically engage a technology provider to host Spectrax System.
