The Timesheet Manager allows workers to record their time against Jobs and Job Tasks. The timesheet will summarise the hours recorded as a daily and weekly total.
The Customers, Resources, Jobs, Job Tasks and Roles are maintained in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and regularly imported to a separate SQL Server database. Timesheet entries are captured in a table in this database. Optionally, workers may also record notes about each timesheet entry. Also, jobs may be classified by time class – chargeable, investment, overhead or leave – to facilitate analysis.
A Timesheet Interface Controller enables the released timesheet entries to be imported into NAV. The Administrator performing this task is able to identify job journal batches and set cut-off dates for timesheet entries. All released timesheet entries with a date up to and including the cut-off date are loaded into the specified batch. Work is priced automatically according to the pricing rules set in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
