"Attached" climbing and descending of towers, pylons and poles is also incorporated into the course dependant on client requirements.
Participants will gain an understanding of the basic use and inspection of equipment used in vertical rope rescue as well as the necessary skills required for various rescue techniques, anchor selection and rigging.
Participants will also gain the knowledge and skills required for risk assessment, casualty management and first aid procedures involved with rope rescue activities
The pre-requisite for this course is the one day SpanSet 'Work Safely at Height' course or similar accredited course.
SpanSet encourages trainees to complete Module 01 Equipment Appreciation and Inspection and Module 03 Occasional Industrial Climbing which gives the candidate a Nationally Recognized Certificate MNMG237A Work Safely at Heights.
A current Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent (PUAEME001A Provide Emergency Care or HLTFA1A Apply Basic First Aid) is required to gain a "Statement of Attainment".
Participants who do not possess this qualification will receive a "Statement of Completion", which can be upgraded at a later date if a First Aid Certificate is obtained.
