Onboard truck scales approved for trade use were recently fitted to a front lift waste collection truck for SITA in South Australia.

Commissioned by Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch, the onboard truck scales can enable waste collection companies to legally charge clients for the weight of waste collected.

The PM Onboard weighing system is the first trade approved onboard truck scales fitted to a front lift waste collection vehicle in Australian.

Although the local waste industry has not moved to charging for waste collections based on weight, SITA will be using trucks fitted with the trade approved onboard weighing systems to investigate client queries on waste collection charges.

The trade approved weighing system includes six heavy duty load cells fitted between the chassis and the truck body and a trade approved digital weight indicator fitted to the truck cab in clear view of the truck driver.

The trade approved onboard truck scales were installed onto to two of SITA’s waste collections trucks fitted with the new 40 cubic metre bodies, which are the largest in Australia. SITA has indicated they will be fitting Accuweigh’s trade approved onboard scales to all new front lift waste collection trucks.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and is the exclusive Australian distributor for the PM Onboard range of onboard truck weighing equipment that is manufactured in the UK.

Accuweigh has sales and service branches in all mainland states providing complete after sales support on all onboard truck scales and vehicle weighing systems.
