With the groundbreaking CeramiCore® technology, Trotec has proven innovation leader is again setting new standards. Trotec has announced the introduction of a new line of CO2 laser sources from US-based manufacturer Iradion Laser, Inc.

The innovative and patented ceramic laser source concept offers exceptional reliability, high engraving quality and increased longevity when compared to traditional laser sources. The resonator body, which generates the laser radiation, is comprised of 100% ceramic. The use of a ceramic laser source is unique in the industry.

Benefits of the CeramiCore Technology:

Laser sources traditionally used in laser processing are either all metal or glass tubes. CeramiCore® technology totally redefines the basic laser source concept. The ceramic design offers tremendous benefits when compared to all metal or glass lasers: as there are no aluminium welds or seals, which may leak over time.

During the CeramiCore manufacturing process, two ceramic half shells are fused together to form the resonator body. The ceramic resonator is fired at 800 degrees and the burning process effectively cleans the interior surface immaculately.

In addition, all of the optical elements are attached to the ceramic resonator body, the electrodes are mounted on the outside and the gas is excited through the ceramic body. This design means that there are no interior metal surfaces that can interfere with the gas mixture's equilibrium.

The result is a pure gas composition over the whole lifetime of the laser source. This guarantees a long lifetime of solid engraving, cutting and marketing performance.

Ceramic lasers can be operated at much greater pressures resulting in faster pulse speeds, which in turn are critical for high speed engraving and marking applications. Laser users can benefit from high engraving quality possible with CermiCore technology.

Also, the electronics' innovative architecture features a lower energy consumption. Benchmark tests show a reduction of up to 30%. This reduces power bills and the heat generated by the laser process.

The laser sources have been perfectly optimised for Trotec laser systems to maximise the CeramiCore® technology's benefits.
