Bud-Pak / Accuweigh recently upgraded the existing Bud-Pak high-level palletiser at Cement Australia's Pinkenbah plant.
The original Bud-Pak / Accuweigh system incorporating twin fluidising jet valve bag packers was originally installed in 1990 and was still going strong, but due to the recent change to smaller 20kg bags of cement, the existing palletising system required some modifications to allow for a 10 bag layer pattern to be implemented.

Software changes to the existing bag palletiser
The bags from the twin Bud-Pak / Accuweigh valve bag packers are conveyed to a bag turner, then onto a new pacing conveyor which ensures correct bag timing for the new bag layer pusher to feed the bags of cement to the existing Bud-Pak high level bagpalletiser.
Software changes were done to the Bud-Pak / Accuweigh palletiser to allow it to implement the newly required bag pattern.
The upgrade was successfully completed by QWM (Bud-Pak / Accuweigh's QLD agent) with packaging experts Anthony Wilcock and Craig Sygroves completing the upgrade in a very proficient manner and to the required timeline.
