The shrink-wrap plastics fit more tightly around objects, reducing or elimianting wear and tear in windy conditions. The plastics can be welded together onsite through the use of the same handheld heat guys used to shrink the films, and combined with the use of the recommended shrink tapes, they can offer barriers to water, dust, vermin and other contaminates.
Powershrink UV Resistant Shrink Films and Tapes (5m, 6m 12m white rolls, clear 4m rolls)
Shrink-wrap plastics have a number of important characteristics that make them superior to older techniques using tarpaulins or canvasses. The shrink-wrap plastics fit more tightly around objects, reducing or eliminating wear and tear in windy conditions.
The plastics can be welded together onsite through the use of the same handheld heat guns used to shrink the films, and combined with the use of the recommended shrink tapes, they can offer barriers to water, dust, vermin and other contaminates. View our training videos to see the basic techniques for using the plastic films to encapsulate objects.
Unless otherwise noted, all our plastic films are UV-resistant for at least 12 months of outdoor exposure. Our films are made from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) providing an effective barrier to moisture.
Large surface area films are packaged as folded sheets rolled onto a core for easier handling and dispensing. Under-Raps recommend the use of either a fixed roll dispenser or our mobile film dispenser (URTO-090). Under-Raps is committed to providing products that impose a minimum burden on the environment. Our plastic films are manufactured from virgin oils, we do not use recycled plastic.
Since the plastics are of a high quality, they themselves can be recycled through bulk plastic recycling operators. Additionally, the majority of our plastic films are Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), containing no chlorine or other toxic chemicals, allowing for safe disposal in landfills or approved incinerators. They are completely safe for handling, requiring no special precautions such as gloves for handling, and there are no toxic chemicals requiring special clean up for operators after handling.
Other Plastics (pallet and drum bags, low slip floor covering, scaffold plastic, fire curtain)
Under-Raps sells a wide range of plastic products that complement the Intercept and Powershrink films:
- Intercept pre-sewn plastic bags in standard shapes and sizes.
- Intercept pre-sewn cylinder bags for use in applications such as hydraulic rams.
- Intercept bags, including ziplock and anti-static (SDAC).
- Shrink pallet and drum bags.
- Low slip floor covering
- Monarfelx scaffolding lastic sheets
- Coverguard Fire Resistant Sheet
Pre-Sewn Corrosion Intercept Bags
These bags offer the protection of Intercept in easy-to-use bags in a range of standard sizes. If your operation handles the same items regularly, these bags are fast to fit and they fit right each time. In addition to the standard sizes, we can create bags to suit your high-volume items, no matter the shape or size.
Cylinder bags provide a fast and easy way to protect cylindrical equipment, perfect for hydraulic rams of all sizes. Simply slide the bag over the end of the object, use the White UV Shrink Tape to seal the bag and then heat shrink it, resulting in a clean and tidy protective surface.
Container Liners suitable for 20 foot and 40 foot shipping containers provide Intercept protection on a large scale.
Standard box-shaped Intercept bags are suitable for a wide range of objects. The heat shrink characteristics of the plastic film allows the bag to be used to cover a wide variety of objects. For longer-term storage, we recommend fitting an additional clear heat-shrink bag over the Intercept bag, use either the pallet bag for large objects or the drun bag for small objects.

Under-Raps sells tapes specifically for use with the heat shrink films when wrapping up objects or building temporary containment structures. Each tape has different characteristics determine where and how the tape is used. The main characteristics are:
- Glue Strength? – Glue strength is important. High strength glues may be hard to remove or leave residues when removed. Low strength glues may not be strong enough to withstand transport conditions.
- Waterproof? – Important for transport and storage, especially for sealing welded plastic seams.
- Low Residue? – How much glue residue does the tape leave when removed? For wrapping applications, low residue is important, especially when sealing plastic edges to painted surfaces.
- UV Resistant? – UV resistance is important for medium- to long-term open air storage.
- Heat Shrink? - For heat shrink applications, can the tape also be shrunk?
