In order to meet the specific requirements of various sectors of industry, Schmalz offers a complete range of vacuum components for many different branches.
The concentration on specific target branches guarantees that Schmalz customers can profit optimally from the expertise of the company's specialists.
What is Vacuum?
Vacuum is the term for air pressures which lie below normal atmospheric pressure. The vacuum values used depend on the specific application.
For vacuum handling, relatively low vacuum values are sufficient. These values lie in the range between 100 mbar (abs) and atmospheric pressure (1013 mbar).
Suction pads are used wherever objects (parts, packing materials etc.) need to be lifted, transported, turned over or handled in some other manner.
They are the connecting element between the vacuum generator and the workpiece. Their technical and physical design is therefore of great importance.
Schmalz offers a wide range of mounting elements which permit many alternative ways of integrating suction pads and grippers to form a gripper system.
The necessary vacuum can be generated with vacuum generators of various types.
The following three basic types are available:
- Vacuum pump
- Vacuum blower
A distinction is made between three groups of valves, according to their principle of operation:
- Solenoid valves for vacuum and compressed-air
- Manually actuated vacuum and compressed-air valves
- Check valves and flow resistors
- Vacuum valves are used to control the vacuum and to improve the process safety in vacuum-gripper systems.
Devices for system monitoring are decisive for the safe operation of a vacuum system.
Schmalz offers measuring and control components with which you can monitor and protect your system.
This section contains everything you need to connect the vacuum generators to the suction pads with hoses.
It also offers a wide range of dust filters for protection of your vacuum system.
For the handling of different workpieces with a single gripper system and for lifting complete layers of objects, Schmalz has developed a comprehensive range of complete systems.
We dimension these systems to meet your requirements and deliver them pre-assembled,ready for connection.
This means that you have no planning work and the systems can be installed quickly and easily.
