The Lufft WS600-UMB is the top member of a series of weather stations and weather sensors and interface devices in the UMB group.

The WS600 has no moving parts except a sample fan, using ultrasonic sensors for wind speed and direction, and doppler radar for precipitation type, rate and total. Parameters reported include temperature, pressure, humidity, wind speed and direction, precipitation type, rate and total.

The station can be integrated with other sensors such as Pyranometer, soil moisture and so on using USB series DIN modules as interface. Data can be collected from remote sites with GSM modems and sophisticated map based, data management PC software.

ECEFast has developed a protocol converter for the WS600 to allow it to be connected into DCS, SCADA and PLC based systems on Modbus TCP/IP connection.
