Wet Scrubbers | Centrifugal ZK Series
The ZK cyclonic scrubber is used where there are high dust loads and pollutants in the gas/air and where both the gas pollutant and the dust can be removed in one action.
Efficiencies in the order of 99% can be obtained. It can be used in several stages with different scrubbing liquids in each stage to suit the cleaning requirements.
In this type of wet scrubber, the dust-laden air/gas enters the cylindrical section of the scrubber tangentially at the bottom. The coarse particles are immediately separated by centrifugal forces and the finer particles are carried by the gas flow through a fixed vane section.
The scrubbing liquid is added just above the vanes and a turbulent water bed is formed in this region. As the innumerable water droplets collide at high relative velocity with the dust particles in the air/gas stream, they break the droplet surface tension and become captured. The centrifical action imparted by the vanes causes the droplets to be carried to the walls of the vessel where they are collected and subsequently pass back through the vane ring to the sludge outlet.
Smaller droplets of water are carried upwards by the moving stream of air/gas and in the upper part of the cylindrical section they pass through a series of specially designed drip rings, removing them from the flow and returning them to the scrubbing zone.
The cleaned air then leaves the scrubber, either vertically or horizontally to suit site conditions.
The exhaust fan can be positioned on either the clean or dirty side of the scrubber depending on the type of material being handled.
The scrubber is self draining and has no moving parts. It uses low pressure water which is introduced through a large bore water port positioned above the primary vanes. There are no small holes to plug in this design.
