The dynamic scrubbing effect is achieved by the use of a wet fan to mix dust, air and water in an extremely turbulent action, which forces the dust particles into the scrubbing liquid.
Stage 1 The unit incorporates a primary scrubbing zone prior to the fan which removes a large percentage of the incoming dust. Air/Gas enters the scrubber tangentially at the bottom. The coarse particles are separated by the centrifugal forces and are discharged through the sludge outlet. The finer particles are carried by the gas flow through an irrigated fixed vane section which provides increased wetted surface areas for particle impingement. The area immediately above the vanes is extremely turbulent causing impaction of the water droplets and the further collection of medium sized particles, which by virtue of the spinning action created by the vane assembly, are carried towards the outer shell of the casing where they are collected and subsequently pass back through the vanes to the sludge outlet.
Stage 2 The exhaust air/gas now containing only the finer dust fraction passes to the integral exhaust fan where final scrubbing takes place. Water in injected into the fan in sufficient quantity so that all surfaces are completely wetted, thus ensuring wet dry zoning does not occur. The fan impeller is of an extremely robust paddle bladed, self cleaning design. The high tip speed produces the very small droplet sizes necessary to capture the fine dust fraction. These droplets then collide and agglomerate by virtue of the centrifugal action, throwing them to the wetted walls of the fan casing, where they pass into the final section of the scrubber.
Stage 3 The air/gas is once again accelerated tangentially to remove the remaining water droplets, which return to the liquid below. The cleaned air/gas then leaves the scrubber vertically through the scrubber outlet. The NVK scrubber unit is extremely versatile and requires minimum maintenance.
