Gason's has now released its liquid fertilizer equipped air seeder to the Australian market. Recently shown at the Cleve (SA), Dowerin and Newdegate (WA) field days, the LQ series seeder was well received. The seeder so impressed the judges at Newdegate that it was awarded the 'Best Commercial Inventors Award, for the 2008 field days.
The new LQ series seeder will be equipped with a robust 2 compartment 5000 litre UV stabilized polyethylene front tank for l liquid and a steel middle and rear bin for solid product.
Based on the reliable and proven 2120/50 SR Series seeder, the ‘Liquid Equipped' model will have all of the standard features of this existing range including excellent access ladder and between bin platform system, strong trussed trailer frame, super efficient hydraulically driven fan, easy access side release (SR) meterboxes and high floatation tyres
Realizing the need for flexibility and strength in a liquid fertilizer storage and delivery system, Gason's have decided to use a 2 piece self draining poly tank that is capable of holding one product in its standard configuration or can be easily modified to cater for 2 separate products in the future.
Utilizing only quality components such as Liquid Systems (SA) twin pump module and metering system and either Farmscan or Kee VRT controllers, the Gason seeder will perform well in this developing market.
The seeders will be available in either rear (RT) or front tow (FT) configuration, and will utilize the Gason designed VRT hydraulically driven metering system on the SR meterboxes. The hydraulic drive system having just completed its ninth season of reliable service.
The benefits of an hydraulic drive system over other variable rate control systems is the ability of manually setting the system if there is an electronic problem, minimizing any downtime during this critical time of the year.
A separate hydraulic circuit is used to run the liquid fertilizer pump to ensure constant tank agitation for difficult liquids. Two agitation nozzles are fitted to each of the 2500 litre tanks. All tank fittings are made from either high grade polypropylene or stainless steel to handle the corrosive liquids used during seeding.
Whilst it may not be the largest liquid seeder on the market, the new seeders aim to offer a balance between capacity, hectares covered between fills, ease of use and access, and excellent floatation to reduce the impact of soil compaction. The 2120 having a total capacity of 12,100 litres, and the 2150 a 13,600 litre capacity.
Both machines can be fitted with all of the standard options usually available in this range such as high capacity 9" filling and unloading auger, rear access platform and air warmer kit to pre-heat air before it enters the distribution system.
New options that will enhance the liquid addition is a 500 litre trace elements tank and the choice of either a variable rate injection pump or a fix rate injection pump. A 500 litre fresh water flush tanks and a total of 6 worklights come standard on this new model.
