Straight Grinder/Polisher | SUHNER USG 9-R

Supplier: Suhner

With its USG 9-R, SUHNER has launched an electric straight grinder/polisher that unites power and ergonomics in an all new form.

Price Guide: POA

Together with Suhner grinding and brush tools, it provides the perfect solution for finishing stainless steel and aluminium.

The USG 9-R straight grinder presents a design of amazing compactness and light weight and can transfer 1050 W to mandrels 6–12 mm or 0.25–0.5" in diameter (chuck 6 mm standard, 8–12 mm optional).

Thanks to its continuously adjustable speed of 3800–8300 rpm, the USG 9-R is ideal for a very wide range of stainless and aluminium finishing applications.

A powerful advantage for all work, whether fine grinding, satin finishing, or brushing: the electronics maintain the speed at a constant level for uniform grinding and polishing results. This maintained speed also helps to optimise the consumption of abrasives.

The USG 9-R straight grinder is based on the tried and tested 1050 W motor from the G Series. This is characterised by a high power density and a small volume. Additional treatment on the field coils protects them from abrasive grinding dust and extends the device's service life — critical with stainless steel and aluminium grinding dust.

For a lean and ergonomic nose, the USG 9-R makes use of planetary gearing. This gearing is characterised by low running noise and is extremely robust. Another positive aspect of planetary gearing is its low vibration levels. Perfect when careful grinding of stainless steel and aluminium is required.

When developing the grinder, Suhner focused particularly on operator safety. The extensive equipment includes a thermal circuit breaker and under-voltage protection. It is therefore impossible to activate the tool unintentionally following a power failure. The digital electronics regulates the speed continuously and keeps it constant under load. The gentle start up makes the work easier for both the operator and the attachment
