"ALC encourages the passage of the Land Transport Infrastructure Amendment Bill 2014 to provide a much needed legislative basis to support the funding of important infrastructure projects," said Michael Kilgariff.
"Delays to programs such as 'Roads to Recovery' add to industry uncertainty, and if not passed today, the Bill cannot be considered again until August.
"The efficiency of the logistics industry depends on a safe and well maintained local road network, particularly those roads which connect to our mining, manufacturing and agriculture regions.
"ALC is encouraging all Senators to support measures that will support improved efficiency of the logistics industry, and to pass the Land Transport Bill through the Senate today," he said.
