Sustarin® H is a crystalline thermoplastic made by the polymerisation of formaldehyde resulting in a material that has a slightly higher stiffness, tensile strength and creep resistance to SUSTARIN® C Copolymer.

Its limited resistance to long-term use in steam and boiling water restricts the use of SUSTARIN® H.

Semi-finished parts made from SUSTARIN®-H can be drilled, turned and milled in the same way as Sustarin®-C.

SUSTARIN®-H Acetal Homopolymer can be characterised by the following properties:

  • Sustarin® H Homopolymer is a crystalline thermoplastic made by the polymerisation of formaldehyde resulting in a material that has a slightly higher stiffness, tensile strength and creep resistance to Sustarin® C Copolymer.
  • Its limited resistance to long-term use in steam and boiling water restricts the use of Sustarin® H.
  • High mechanical strength and stiffness
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Good impact strength
  • Good wear resistance
  • Good sliding properties
  • Low water absorption
  • Resistant to fuels and solvents
  • Meets EU & FDA requirements for food contact applications
  • Is not self extinguishing and burns with a clear flame

Fields of application: gears, sliding parts, bearings, impellers, pump parts, valve parts, feed screws, food industry components, bushes, cams.
