Integrated Packaging Laser Perforation | ...
Integrated Packaging is the only Australian organisation that utilises PerfoTec Laser Perforation technology to provide customers with unmatched packaging solutions for fresh produce with extended shelf-life, improved product presentation, reduced freight costs and reduced food waste.
The PerfoTec Respiration Measurement system essentially fine tunes packaging’s transmission rates. The Laser unit creates the micro-perforations to achieve the correct permeability. The combination of Respirator and Laser unit is very effective at putting fruit and vegetables to sleep, extending the freshness considerably.
The technology is particularly well suited to large farming operations, with same or similar crops being harvested across different seasons. Laser Perfortec also benefits growers who have farming operations in different regions that have a different climate.
The PerfoTec Laser Perforation System extends the freshness of fruit and vegetables, by optimising the permeability of the packaging.
Film permeability is the critical control point for the quality and shelf life of fresh produce. This can be controlled through micro laser perforation.
The PerfoTec Laser Perforation System makes consistent and accurate amount and size of holes. These are essential features for Active Modified Atmosphere Packaging (AMAP).
The PerfoTec Laser Perforation System is the only laser in the world that has a patented closed-loop-feedback camera system.
The integrated camera inspects each hole, for quality control purposes, and also to be able to ensure the accuracy of the Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) of each pack. If necessary the laser is automatically adjusted ‘on the fly’ to balance out any variation in film thickness.
The camera is located directly behind the laser perforation head and checks each perforation in the film. The holes are analysed for diameter and shape. If there is an inconsistency in the holes, the packaging machine can be stopped automatically.
In this way, the system guarantees that all packages have the same exact required number and size of perforations.
The Integrated Packaging team would welcome the opportunity to present and discuss the advantages of Perfotec technology, contact the team at Integrated Packaging.
