The Climate Ready Program offers matching grants from $50,000 to $5 million to support research and development, proof-of-concept and early-stage commercialisation activities to develop solutions to climate change challenges.
"Climate Ready is about working in partnership with industry to support our best green ideas and in turn support high-wage, high-skill jobs," Senator Carr said.
This announcement takes the total number of projects funded under the program to 105, worth more than $78 million in grant funding and supporting around 1,080 jobs.
"Climate Ready provides businesses with the support needed to overcome both environmental and financial obstacles."
The funded projects will achieve concrete objectives such as reducing energy use and carbon emissions, and promoting water recycling and waste recovery.
NSW projects include:
· BluGlass Limied was awarded $4,957,992 for a high-efficiency thin-film solar cell.
· Acoustica Pty Ltd was awarded $1,930,395 for the development of An Organic Visco-elastic Captive Membrane, Quietwave® - An Environmental Noise Barrier.
· EnviroZymes Pty Ltd was awarded $298,100 for novel enzyme blends for organic resource recovery.
· Broens Industries Pty Ltd was awarded $1,280,300 for a project on Energy Saving Through Automotive Advancement Initiatives.
· Urban Ecological Systems Ltd was awarded $478,148 for the development of an Energy and Water Efficient Combined Aquaculture and Organic Vegetable Production System
· Global Valve Technology Pty Ltd was awarded $500,000 to produce Pump Energy reduction using a reduced pressure loss check valve.
· NSW Priority Fuel Management Pty Ltd was awarded $500,000 for a Mobile Oil Remediation Unit with Computer Managed Monitoring System.
· Radotec Pty Ltd ATF Radotec Trust was awarded $250,761 for the development of a low noise and low-cost vertical axis wind energy system that is suitable for smallscale commercial applications in the urban environment.
· Endless Solar Corporation Limited was awarded $325,995 for the CoolSolar (TM) Integrated Thermal Comfort Device.
QLD projects include:
· Peak3 Pty Ltd was awarded $493,479 for the Self Optimising and Remote Monitoring Diesel Emissions Reduction and Management System using multi point data inputs in a Diesel "Ecosystem".
· Chaotech Pty Ltd was awarded $500,000 for the low cost Biomass Carbon Kiln Pyrolysis Plant.
· George Floth Pty Ltd was awarded $1,088,316 for the Integrated Ventilated Glazing Unit (IVGU) Facade System.
· Biolytix Water Pty Ltd was awarded $470,424 for the decentralised wastewater recycling system based on the energy efficient Biolytix aerobic filtration process.
· Raytech Concepts Pty Ltd was awarded $298,430 for the Raytech Pulse Technology, a process for rapidly charging batteries.
· Lang Technologies Pty Ltd was awarded $724,486 for a revolution in food processing - an entire industry solution to save water and energy.
SA projects include:
· Dadanco Pty Ltd was awarded $855,291 for the development of an energy efficient air conditioning system.
· Cohda Wireless Pty Ltd was awarded $453,353 for the Electronic Road Traffic Management.
· SolveIT Software Pty Ltd was awarded $468,850 for their Green Supply Chain Optimisation Software.
· Lifeprint Australia Pty Ltd was awarded $231,096 for its Diagnostic Technologies for Detecting Insect Borne Diseases.
· Transponder Technologies Pty Ltd was awarded $458,680 for FUELiTT – a system for improving internal combustion engine fuel efficiency and emissions.
· Measurement Engineering Australia Pty Ltd was awarded $243,968 for the Plant Water Status sensor - a plant-based irrigation scheduling tool for use in trees and vines.
· CCI Pty Ltd was awarded $273,354 for the Power-Mate Pro - a three phase electrical energy audit device.
· SolarOne Marketing Pty Ltd was awarded $138,774 for their Solar Powered Lighting System for Pathways and Roadways.
TAS projects include:
· Cellborne Lipids Pty Ltd was awarded $127,582 for the biodiesel and medicinal lipid production from renewable biomass feedstocks.
VIC projects include:
· Indice Pty Ltd was awarded $500,000 for a project to develop an energy efficient direct replacement for MR16 halogen downlights.
· Aqua Guardian Group Ltd was awarded $499,512 for the AquaArmour - preventing evaporation on large-scale water storage areas: mitigating climate change impacts on scarce water resources.
· Rainbow Bee Eater IP Pty Ltd was awarded $378,300 for the project titled Rainbow Bee Eater Renewable Energy Implementation.
· Advanced Vehicle Technologies Pty Ltd was awarded $500,000 to work on clean emissions from long haul trucks using
· AVT's diesel to 100% LPG conversion.
WA projects include:
· Simulus Pty Ltd was awarded $275,351 for a carbon-friendly nickel mining 'flowsheet'.
· NemGenix Pty Ltd was awarded $386,138 for the development of drought tolerance in biofuel and other crops through improved root health.
· Russell James Barnett was awarded $188,157 for the ultra-high efficiency degassification of plant feedwater.
· Cube Consulting Pty Ltd was awarded $500,000 for InViron - an innovative, web based environmental management, monitoring and reporting system to meet climate change challenges.
Climate Ready is part of the Clean Business Australia initiative - a $240 million partnership over four years between the Rudd Government and industry to deliver energy and water-efficient projects with a focus on productivity and innovation.
