Case Study: New Grocery Store POS Installation

Vectron has added a new site to their growing number of Retail System installations. Farmers Foodworks in Dallas, Melbourne recently installed Vectron’s Shop Ezi Retail System.

With three other grocery stores and a head office already running Shop Ezi, the owners needed to convert the new Dallas supermarket over as soon as the sale was complete.

The Shop Ezi software ticked all the boxes to provide POS and stock control but also included hand held wireless stock management.

The data conversion took place on a Sunday night as well as the conversion/install of three of the existing tills. Some of the original equipment was utilized, but most hardware was replaced with Shop Ezi touchscreens, pc’s printers, cash drawers and mobile software. This of course, meant live training on the POS on the Monday morning.

Farmers Foodworks Dallas is also using Ezi-Mobile, part of the Shop Ezi software suite. These wireless handheld ordering units allow stock takes, price changes, markdowns and much more to be done all on the shop floor. The handheld uses the live back office database so staff are always looking at current data, making managing markdowns and price changes a breeze.

Deli, Meat and Fruit & Veg scales are also connected to the back office, allowing office staff to take care of any price changes and promotions. This frees up the fresh department staff are to do what they do best.

IGA and Foodworks accredited, Shop-Ezi is already in use at over 200 independent stores throughout Australia.

Fully integrated, this innovative package offers retailers a complete system solution from back office management through to shop floor mobile scanning.
