The amount of formal training and workplace experience a trainee will need will depend on:
Existing skills and abilities of the trainee
Trainee's experience in similar types of work, for example a person with a licence for the use or operation of similar equipment and experience using the licence will be unlikely to require as much training as a trainee that is new to industry
Trainee's aptitude for operating the plant and equipment, which could be different depending on factors such as age and length of time in industry
