The QuintSonic 7 measures paint, lacquer and plastic coatings applied to plastic, metal, wood, glass or ceramic substrates. Thanks to its innovative technology, the QuintSonic 7 can measure up to five layers in one operation. The QuintSonic 7 is the first gauge of its kind to determine exactly the layer thickness of GRP and CRP components. The gauge combines state-of-the-art sensor technology and innovative software to provide a high-precision measuring system for applications that couldn't be solved previously.
Additionally this unit can also be used for measuring thin substrates through the coating. Additional features include the ability to measure down to 10 microns coating thickness and the in-built A-Scan graphic display option. The gauge stores up to a total of 250,000 readings and measures in microns, mm, mils and inches. The QuintSonic 7 meets Standards DIN EN ISO 2808: 2007, ASTM D6132 - 08, SSPC-PA9.
- Measuring Range: 300 microns, 700 microns, 1.5mm, 3.1mm, 5.9 mm (at 2375 m/s ultrasonic velocity in all layers)
- Min. Layer Thickness: Approximately 10 microns (depending on the ultrasonic velocity in the layer.
- Measuring Area: Diameter 11mm
- Monitoring of Limits: Visual and audible alarm when exceeding limits
- Resolution: 0.1 microns
The QuintSonic 7 is supplied with a sensor, carrying case, operating instructions on CD-ROM, 2 x 100ml coupling agent, one-layer reference sample, USB adapter cable and 4 only AA batteries.
