In addition, monitor the generator's engine block, coolant, and ambient temperatures.
Every ControlByWeb device has a built-in web server that allows you to access the control pages from any location in the world using a standard web browser, computer, or smartphone.
Generator Remote Start & Monitoring
In this example, a relay in the X-310 Web-Enabled Programmable Controller is connected to the generator's start switch for remote generator start/stop. A "Run Status" output signal from the generator is connected to an input of the X-310 , and two temperature sensors are connected to the engine coolant and ambient air for remote monitoring. In addition, the X-310 is powered using the generator's battery which allows it to monitor battery voltage.
Voltage Status Monitoring
Other options not shown are line and generator voltage status monitoring, transfer switch control, and more. All of these parameters can be remotely controlled and monitored using a web browser or email/text alerts can be set up for abnormal conditions. The X-320 can be used to measure actual values (rather than just on/off status) such as line voltage, generator output voltage, generator frequency, fuel tank level, and more.
