To obtain ultrapure water quality, tap water is purified to RiOs™ (Type 3) water: First, the Progard® cartridge provides a comprehensive pretreatment to extend the lifetime of the Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane.
Intelligent RO ensures the optimization of the water consumption, quality and a constant flow rate. Water is then irradiated by the optional bactericidal UV lamp. Depending on daily volume needs, different production flow rates are available (8 & 16 L/h).
The RO water is stored in a polyethylene tank designed to minimize risks of contamination during water storage. The vent filter provides effective protection against airborne contaminants. The ASM, Automatic Sanitization Module, prevents biofilm formation. Water can be either sourced through the tank front valve or sent by a distribution pump to feed instruments such as a glassware washing machine.
Water then passes through a long-life dual wavelength UV lamp, which ensures organic molecule degradation by photooxidation. Next, it is processed through the QPAK® purification cartridge to reach a resistivity of 18.2 MO•cm (25°C) and a TOC value below 5 ppb. Finally, it recirculates through a loop to the dispenser, where an Application-Pak removes specific contaminants critical for your experiments. A range of purification cartridges and Application-Paks is available for you to select according to your applications.
Selected for its exceptional performance, Jetpore® virgin ion-exchange resin is used in all Milli-Q® purification cartridges. Jetpore® is made only for Milli-Q®systems.Both Progard® and QPAK® cartridges incorporate RFID technology. This provides instant visibility on cartridge parameters and also ensures a safe & optimal performance of your system, giving you full traceability.

Reject recirculation loop that recycles reject water treated by the Progard® to minimize tap water usage (recovery up to 66 %)* and extend Progard® lifetime while avoiding fouling or scaling issues that might shorten the RO cartridge lifetime.

Unique safety device ensuring that only low ionic permeate water will be sent to the tank in order to warrant adequate pure water quality and to increase the lifetime of the ion-exchange cartridge used to produce ultrapure water.
Complete process monitoring system that systematically checks water temperature, pressure, conductivity and RO rejection using calibrated meters at different steps.
Water is purified in a first step using unique Jetpore® ionexchange resin, synthetic activated carbon and UV lamp to reach a resistivity of 18.2 M?.cm at 25° and a TOC value below 5 ppb; both values are monitored by advanced analytical techniques.
This water is sent through a small recirculation loop to the Application-Pak, where a final purification step, critical for specific expriments, removes contaminants just before water leaves the system.
