Affords fall protection for personnel working at levels above ground, when engaged in loading or unloading goods by any means. In particular by forklifts with palletised loads, this gate protects the operator from the open edge at all times.
The Sherwood Pallet Gate is also referred to as a high level safety barrier, mezzanine gate, up and over gate, or a flip gate and is classes as height safety equipment.
Advantages of the Sherwood Pallet Gate:
Small floor space envelope
Designed and built to last a lifetime
Simple, quick operation
Set and forget - the operator must use it to gain access to the load
When using the Sherwood pallet gate?
Often it is necessary to remove a section of protective handrailing or chain, to provide openings on high level platforms or scaffolds for the handling of goods and thus for some periods of time, the high level platform or mezzanine is not guarded and an operator working at heights may fall to the ground or the load may be inadvertantly dislodged and fall.
Designed to give permanent and continuous height safety protection
The Sherwood Pallet Gate is designed to give permanent and continuous height safety protection to anyone working at high level loading points and once installed, the pallet gate must be used by the operator to gain access to the load or goods and they are never without protection.
The Sherwood Pallet Gate comes as a standard configuration or can be 'tailor made' for each loading point to accommodate varying site conditions, having regard for height and width of load, head clearance and other variables. For large loads a different configuration is used and is referred to as an 'SP'.
The Sherwood Pallet Gate is in the form of a swinging gate, revolving about a horizontal axis between two fixed pivot points and swinging through an arc of 180 degrees for the Standard pallet gate or 90 degrees for the SP pallet gate, between its two extreme stationery positions.
One tension spring at each pivot point on the Standard pallet gate provides a rotational assisting moment for easy manual operation. The SP pallet gate is a simple counter weighted design.
The standard material used for construction is 'Duragal' galvansed tube and all Sherwood Pallet Gates are designed to the Australian Code AS 1657 covering fixed platforms, walkways, stairways and ladders - Design, construction and installation.
We can supply either a standard gate or tailor made solution to suit your exact needs.
