The majority of our durable recycled timbers can be run into a decking profile of your choice.
Profiles range from 60mm x 19mm in pencil round spotted gum through to 220mm x 40mm in tallow wood.
Depending on the timber species, we prefer to keep a width to thickness ratio of no greater than approximately 5:1. This means that the boards will be resistant to cupping, which can be unsightly and may cause surface ponding after rain.
The table may be useful when selecting a species for your deck.

Australian Architectural Hardwoods has been manufacturing a variety of products from recycled hardwoods since 1993.
Established leaders in recycled hardwood processing, we are committed to supporting environmentally responsible building options.
When you buy our products you can be assured that you are not contributing to the devastation of our natural ecology.
At Australian Architectural Hardwoods, we specialise in north coast hardwoods which are exceptionally beautiful and arguably the best hardwoods in the world.
We search Australia, salvaging timber from demolitions of large buildings such as old wool stores, army barracks and wharves.
These sites provide a range of hardwood species and sizes that are fully seasoned and will not behave like green timber.
The timber has been allowed to season gradually over a long period of time - sometimes up to 100 years - and, as a result, it is more stable than most kiln dried timber.
The salvaged timber is transported to our premises in the historic timber town of Kempsey, New South Wales, where we carefully de-metal and grade it.
All graded timber is then stored in weather-proof premises until needed to ensure its continued stability.
We don't machine our de-metalled material until we receive your order. This gives us the greatest flexibility to satisfy your specific requirements
