The mats start at Low Voltage, with either a class A or B mat. Class A mats are only suitable for indoor use, whilst Class B mats can also be used outdoors.
The LV mats can have a working voltage of 500V. Class A mat is a 3mm thick mat, and comes in a standard size of 900mm x 900mm, and a Class B mat is a 6mm thick mat, and comes in a standard size of 900mm x 900mm.
High Voltage insulating mats start with the class 2 mats. This mat is suitable for indoor or outdoor use, and comes in a standard size of 900mm x 900mm and 6mm thick. The working voltage for this class 2 mat is 17kV or 17000V.
The mat with the highest rating is the class 4 mat. This mat comes in a standard size of 1m x 1m and is significantly thicker than the other mats at 12mm thick.
The class 4 mat has a working voltage of 36000V. Below is a table of the different types of mats, sizes, working voltage and uses for reference.
Busbar Curtains are perfect partition off live areas or to cover live parts, which are unable to be switched off whilst working on a switchboard. They are available in 600mm x 600mm or 300mm x 600mm.
They are 2mm thick and are available in Blue, or a clear version is available which is only 1mm thick. These Busbar Curtains have a Working Voltage of 1000V. They are manufactured and tested to the applicable European Norm (DIN / VDE 0680 I) or Australian Standard (AS/NZ4202 - 1995).

Extreme Safety are also obliged to advise that this MANDATORY that equipment be tested every 6 months from the date put into service.
Using gloves that are out of test date may carry severe penalties and fines.
