Ansac has an extensive range of rotary valves used in a wide range of applications from heavy minerals industries to light agricultural applications.
Rotary valves, otherwise known as rotary feeders, rotary airlocks or star valves have applications in the solid / gas separation or solids metering applications. Ansac rotary valves are ideally suited for airlocks on dust collection systems or solids feeding applications and can service a very wide range of industries and applications.
The Ansac range of valves are available in opening sizes from 150mm - 600mm. Unlike our competitors, the Ansac valve bodies are fully cast in a single piece reducing the number of seams for wear. In addition, as all of the components are manufactured from cast iron the valve has all of the advantages of cast iron over traditional mild steel including superior corrosion resistance, better wear properties and thermal stability.
Ansac R Series valves can also be fully customised to suit your needs and can be fabricated with a range of sizes, materials and rotor configurations. R-series valves are available to be fabricated in mild steel, stainless steel and high temp alloys; regardless of the application required.
Temperature rating to 200°C.
Flowrates are at 100% fill.
If material is lumpy with hard pieces which may stall the valve, the aim should be to have a valve large enough so the fill is 50% - 60%. This will ensure that lumps do not cause jamming
Rotors & Tips
The standard R Series rotor is closed, which has the least amount of potential wear. Open rotors can be provided where required. Where very stringy material is used, which can jam the rotor, adjustable rubber tipped rotors may be used. The rubber tip is reversible so it can be turned over for a new surface
Double labyrinth ‘Zed Seals’ fitted with flock pads, and greased on each side of the valve, are standard with all rotary valves.
Grease Purge - For extreme duty, valves can be fitted with a grease purge unit over the labyrinth seal. By creating a grease filled cavity between the seals, it prevents the escape of any dust particles or gases.
Air Purge - When grease cannot be used, air or other gases can be used to purge the seal so all dust particles or product gases are flushed back into the product stream.
Under speed sensors can be supplied and fitted to rotary valves. These are mounted on a specifically designed bracket that is bolted onto the bearing. The sensor fitted is 12mm in diameter with CD-PNP electrical connection and protection to IP67. The unit is suitable for temperatures from -25°C to +70°C.

Ansac Pty Ltd was established to continue the services previously offered by South West Foundry and Carbon Services Australia Pty Ltd in the design and manufacture of specialized equipment for mining and industrial use.
ANSAC officially opened in 1988 and since then we have grown significantly requiring the need for new and larger premises at Lot 2 Estuary Drive. Ansac moved into their current premises on the 19th March 1999.
