The SpectroMill^® is a Ball Pestle Impact Grinder which reduces a millimetre sized particle sample feed to fine micrometer sizes (below 44 µm) within 5 to 30 minutes.

SpectroMill-I has a single clamping mechanism that can accommodate one sample holder or one Multi-Vial Adapter, while SpectroMill-II has two such clamping mechanisms.

Depending on its size each vial accepts sample capacities of 1 cm³ to 30 cm³ and is available in the following materials:

• Clear polystyrene
• Hardened stainless steel
• Rust resistant stainless steel
• Titanium carbide (similar Rockwell “C” hardness as tungsten carbide)

Ball pestles are offered in compatible materials to the vials. Multi-Vial Adapters with 1, 3 or 5 cavities enable processing up to 5 samples simultaneously. They are available with different bore diameters to accommodate a variety of vials.
