Several tonnes of grinding media (normally in the form of steel balls) are consumed by process plants as part of the comminution process. The handling of heavy steel balls can be a safety issue when drums of balls are hoisted and tipped, often manually, into chutes and mill outlets.
Transmin can custom-engineer steel ball storage vessels to suit any operation. This includes hoppers and trays designed to handle various ball diameters – from 27mm to 150mm.
Systems to suit all applications. From simple hoist operated kibbles through to more complex designs incorporating hoppers and side wall elevators.
Automatic sorting and handling. Safe sorting and handling of grinding media (steel balls) in the range 27 to 150mm diameter. Balls are supplied at a controlled and measured rate.
Safe, compact, proven designs. The handling of heavy steel balls can be a safety issue when drums or bags of balls are hoisted and tipped, often manually, into chutes and mill inlets.
Variable sorting and meter rate. The capability to infinitely vary the ball metering rate. Standard designs can handle 30, 52 and 80mm balls simultaneously.
