The terminal box consists of a rectangular inlet spigot for the primary supply air together with an acoustical rectangular casing on the discharge side.
The rectangular inlet spigot is fitted with multi-point air flow sensor grids and motorized volume control dampers for greater airflow accuracy and reliability ranging from sensing point no. 4 (smaller units) to sensing point no. 12 (larger units).
The rectangular casing has a larger cross-sectional area and thus, a lower air velocity at the outlet.
The casing is manufactured with a minimum of Gauge 22 (or 0.7 mm) thick galvanized steel sheets. The end plate, circular inlet and outlet spigot are manufactured from 0.7 mm thick galvanized steel.
The casing is internally lined with 25 mm thick semi-rigid fiber glass insulation at density of 32 kg/m3. This insulation material is coated with black fiber glass tissue, an acoustic and thermal insulation, erosion resistant up to 20 m/s air velocity across its face.
Control enclosure is manufactured in galvanized sheet steel with tip seal, aluminum pressure grids and polyurethane plain bearings.
All rubber tubing and plastic accessories used on the terminal units are UL listed flame retardant material.
The damper blade is made from two sheets of 1.0 mm thick galvanized steel with a rubber tip seal rated to UL94VO and sandwiched between the steel sheets to provide it a tight seal.
Mode of Operation
The VAV Terminal Units can be operated with any DDC or electronics and pneumatic VAV controller Note: Special consideration should be given if the VAV controller is required to interface with Building Automation System (BAS) or Building Control System (BCS) to ensure that they are interoperable or compatible.
‘TVB-S’ Units are suitable for an airflow ranging from 10 to 1890 l/s with a maximum volume control range of 10:1 and airflow accuracy of ±5%, depending on the type of controller used.
Static differential pressure range 20 to 1500 Pa.
The recommended ambient temperature should be between 10°C and 50°C.
