Standard colour wheels have six segments.
Also available are more or less segments, special dichroic animation wheels and synchronisers (including one shot and timed)
Standard motor speeds are 1, 2.5, 3.3, 4.2 and 10 rpm
Scintillation is used to produce a flickering effect.
This can range from the twinkling of stars to dappled sunlight or wave effects.
This can be in addition to a colour wheel or the wheel itself can be of dappled colours.
