The moisture content of process material is determined by measuring the properties of a microwave beam that has been passed through the process material.

The changes to the microwave beam are the result of the quantity of water present in the beam. The beam is transmitted from a housing located in the C-Bracket under the conveyor belt.

The transmitted microwave signal is detected by receiver located in the upper arm of the Measurement C-Bracket. The effect on the microwave signal by the material it passes through is recorded and used in the determination of the moisture content.
