Vibratory feeders are usually installed together with bin activators to assist in material withdrawal from storage. Proper interfacing is critical to ensure that material flows optimally.
Electronic controls and timers are used with great effect in bin activators. Ideal operation duration and delays can be established through trial and error and programmed either prior or post material withdrawal.
Vibroflow has worked with a client to build a bin activator that has a diameter of almost 3m and is retrofitted to the bottom of the existing storage system. It is wired up to a PLC system that sporadically vibrates the bin to loosen any material that can potentially cause problems. The programming pulses the conveyor at the same time so that any material in the bin is not simply compacted but withdrawn.
