The TA40 & TA60 Series air temperature sensors improved design using high stability components provides faster and more accurate temperature sensing. The temperature stability of the new design allows realistic temperature measurement accuracy of better than ±0.2°C over the entire measurement range.
The sensing element consists of a semi-conductor integrated circuit that provides a linear output voltage proportional to the ambient temperature. The microprocessor reads the voltage and provides a very stable square-wave frequency proportional to the air temperature.
For ambient air temperature readings we recommend that the sensors are located inside a louvred radiation screen, to protect from direct and reflected solar radiation and precipitation. This sensor screen should preferably be located at a height of 1.2 to 1.5 metres above ground level. The ideal screen to use is Environdata’s SS31 Sensor Shelter. This modern version of the Stephenson Screen is constructed from aluminium and then powdercoated so it is robust enough for any environment.
Environdata Weather Stations Pty Ltd specialises in the design, manufacture and sales of automatic weather stations and their associated software and hardware. Environdata also supplies and maintains remote communications equipment for these systems, so that a complete environmental monitoring solution can be supplied.
Environdata has been operating since 1982 and has built its reputation on providing the highest level of support all its customers, for the life of their equipment. Customers are seen as long term partners, and it is this long-term commitment by Environdata that has ensured that customers return.
Environdata’s technical service department ensures that all products can be upgraded, serviced, recalibrated and repaired. Customers support services are seen as equally important, and free telephone and email support is provided for the life of the equipment.
In Australia, Environdata also provides on-site repair and re-calibration to customers on an annual basis. Once, most weather station customers would have sent their weather stations or sensors in for service. Now, Environdata operates a fully mobile on-site service unit.
