The GEA NIRO FSD® is a multi-stage spray dryer combining spray and fluid bed drying in one unit, with excellent agglomeration performance for free-flowing, dust-free, easily reconstituted powders.

Integrated spray and fluid bed drying with excellent agglomeration performance, reliability and flexibility.
Processes free-flowing, dust-free, easily reconstituted agglomerated powders, including agrochemicals, food flavours, vitamins, proteins, maltodextrins, coffee and petfood.
Air disperser, spray drying chamber, cyclones, fluid bed, bag filters and final system can be tailored to individual requirements.
Flexible design allows multiple products on one dryer; operating parameters can be adjusted for precisely defined particle size and powder solubility.
Human-friendly operation and easy routine inspection support a better working environment and shorter downtime. Thorough automated cleaning frees operators for other tasks.

Configurable for up to three drying stages, depending on the product.
High-pressure nozzles atomise liquid concentrate into the chamber; hot air from the air disperser evaporates most water.
A static fluid bed removes further moisture before the VIBRO-FLUIDIZER® provides final drying and cooling.
Exhaust passes through a cyclone and SANICIP® II bag filter; coffee processes use a TRH filter.
Filtered fines return to the static fluid bed, air disperser or VIBRO-FLUIDIZER®, depending on the required agglomeration profile.
Optional FSD-Granulator adds liquid to the stationary fluid bed for additional agglomeration: feed-composition liquid, a defined-composition solution or water.

Hygienic design can meet all international regulatory requirements for chemicals, pharma and food processing.
Optional automated clean-in-place (CIP) reduces manual cleaning and may reduce cleaning time, water, chemicals and wastewater treatment costs.
Process temperature monitoring, GEA SPRAYEYE® and COTECTOR® minimise fire or explosion risk and support 24/7 production; Fire Safety System and DRIVENT® explosion suppression vents provide further protection.

Clean Purge and CEE cyclone technologies may improve efficiency and quality.
