Thermomass – Insulated Concrete Sandwich ...
Thermomass – Insulated Concrete Sandwich Panel
Thermomass is the most intelligent way to integrate the structural, aesthetic and insulation components of a concrete wall to save time and money.
Thermomass way of insulating from the outside and having a dense mass on the inside of the structure makes concrete make sense. For these reasons and more, THERMOMASS is the most sensible way to build any concrete structure requiring insulation.
See below for more information and links to case studies of how THERMOMASS is creating, attractive, safe, energy efficient built environments.
The Thermomass Building Insulation System complies with Section J of the BCA and is a fully integrated, highly energy-efficient, insulated concrete sandwich wall system.
THERMOMASS insulation for concrete sandwich panels has been specified for over 30 years in many applications
- Commercial
- Medium/High Density Residential & Student Accommodation
- Industrial
- Low Density Residential
- Schools and Universities
- Correctional
Benefits of Thermomass – Insulated Concrete Sandwich Panel
- It has the attributes of EXTRUDED POLYSTYRENE INSULATION - The insulation component of the THERMOMASS System uses an polystyrene extrusion process which produces a closed cell component that contains no gaps or voids. Because of this, the rigid foam board insulation resists weathering and water penetration, including water vapour transmission.
- Extruded polystyrene has a high thermal resistance and high compressive strength, reducing the sagging and other performance-reducing wear experienced by other materials.
- The THERMOMASS System not only effectively insulates a building. The fact that the building is insulated from the outside means that the mass of the internal layer of concrete can be used as a heat sink for the building, passively regulating the temperature as the ambient temperature heats and cools over the day and night, slashing energy costs. (read about Thermal Mass)
Installation:
Installing THERMOMASS concrete insulation is quick and easy. The careful design of the THERMOMASS System often makes it the cost effective option available in many applications.
The THERMOMASS System simply brings together form and function to achieve the results required, on time and on budget. The THERMOMASS system is adapted to precast, tilt-up and pour in place concrete applications.
