Horizontal: The half shoulder profile is the second most frequent profile and works with individual shapers and manual to fully automatic lines. The reverse shoulder profile is mainly used for the simplest lines, sometimes without a scoring unit.
Trapeze: Also called “American Profile”, originating in the US and usually delivered with a finger joint length of 1/4 inch.
Horizontal finger joints are mainly used in furniture construction. Shoulder profiles can give table plates a parquet-like appearance with only straight butt joints visible.
